  1. Create a New Chat:

    • On the Left Sidebar of Daan's main interface, find the big "+ New Chat" button at the top.
    • Click it without hesitation! πŸ–±οΈ
    • You'll see the Middle Area (Chat Area) transform into a brand new, empty conversation interface. This is where you "talk" face-to-face with the AI.
    • Simultaneously, the Right Area (Parameters Panel) will display the settings for this new chat, including the default model (the one we set in the last tutorial!).

  2. (Optional) Confirm or Change the Model:

    • If you want to use a different AI model for this specific chat (not the default), you can find the "Model" dropdown menu β–Ό in the Right Sidebar and select the model you need. If you're happy with the default, skip this step.

  3. Send Your First Message:

    • Look at the very bottom of the Middle Chat Area. There's an input box πŸ“, possibly with placeholder text like "Type message...".
    • Click inside this box and type what you want to say to the AI. For example:
      • Hello!
      • Write a short poem about spring.
      • Explain what artificial intelligence is.
    • Once you've typed your message, you have two ways to send it:
      • Method 1 (Recommended): Press the Enter key on your keyboard.
      • Method 2: Click the paper airplane icon ✈️ (Send button) to the right of the input box.

  4. Receive and Read the AI's Reply:

    • After sending, your message will appear in the chat history area, usually with your avatar or identifier.
    • Wait a few seconds ⏳ (the AI needs a moment to think).
    • Soon, the AI's reply will appear below your message, typically with the AI's avatar or identifier.
    • Read the AI's response carefully! πŸ€“

  5. Continue the Conversation:

    • Just like any chat, you can continue typing new questions or comments in the input box at the bottom and press Enter to send, engaging in a multi-turn conversation with the AI.

  6. Interacting with Messages (Common Actions):

    • When you hover your mouse pointer over a message (yours or the AI's), a small set of icons will usually appear next to it. These are quite useful:
      • πŸ“„ Copy icon: Click this to copy the text content of that message to your clipboard, ready to paste elsewhere.
      • ✏️ Edit icon (only on your messages): Click this to modify what you previously sent. Remember to press Enter or click a confirm button after editing.
      • πŸ”„ Regenerate icon (only on AI messages): If you're not satisfied with the AI's response, click this. The AI will try to generate a new, different answer based on your previous prompt.
      • πŸ—‘οΈ Delete icon: Click this to remove the message from the chat history (use with caution).

  7. Saving and Titles:

    • You don't need to manually save the conversation. As long as you've exchanged messages, the chat will automatically appear in the "CONVERSATIONS" list on the Left Sidebar.
    • If you enabled the "Summary Chat Title" feature earlier, Daan will automatically generate a title after a few messages. You can also manually change the title in the "Chat Name" input box in the Right Sidebar.
